This is a CD that presents a wide range of historic sounds in creative and innovative interpretive audio segments and stories. They include: 19th century bells, a stationary steam engine-driven saw mill, antique automobiles, segments from The Cleveland National Air Show, early 20th century vaudeville sound effect instruments and many others. The CD celebrates our collective past while educating and entertaining through stories, soundscapes and historical vignettes.
There are constructed soundscapes giving a rich sonic picture of what the world might have sounded like in four audio historic illusions. Some tracks weave historical narratives about varied themes such as steam engines, blacksmithing, popcorn and others by incorporating field-recorded sounds with spoken word explanations. Song stories document events and interpret specific artifacts through the presentation of their sounds while the story is being told.

Jeff Moyer is the troubadour of the Disability Rights Movement. For 40 Years, Jeff has performed at demonstrations major events in Washington including the US Senate Reception following the signing of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Jeff was the solo musician at the historic Presidential Candidates Forum in 2008 and was invited to perform at the National Constitution Center when the late Justin Dart Jr.’s battered wheelchair was installed as a permanent exhibit. This album presents 47 years of song writing concerning the history that Moyer lived including his younger brothers institutionalization as a child with a severe cognitive disability. It highlights the struggles and victories that have been the remarkable history of Jeff Moyer, the leading songwriter and performer on the cutting edge of the US Disability Rights Movement.
